Per-seat billing

In this guide, we'll explain how our per-seat pricing plan works for your organization. Let's dive into the details:

Getting Started

When you subscribe to RosterBird, you don't "purchase seats" in the traditional sense. Instead, as an organization owner, you have the flexibility to add or remove members at any time. Your initial subscription covers the members who have been added to RosterBird up to that point.

Here's how it works with an example:

Example:

  1. Initial Subscription: Let's say your organization has 10 members. When you subscribe, you'll pay for the current 10 members. If you choose the annual subscription option, you'll be billed for those 10 members for a year.
  2. Adding Members: Three months later, you decide to add 2 more members to your organization. In this case, you will be charged for the 2 new seats alone at the end of the day. This charge will be pro-rated to the remaining 9 months of your current subscription period. Your renewal, when it occurs, will be for the number of members you have in the organization at that point.
  3. Removing Members: Now, let's assume that shortly after adding 2 members, you decide to remove 2 members from your organization. The seats you purchased are still yours , and will remain in the organization. So, in this scenario, you have already paid for 12 members but currently have 10 members in use.
  4. Adding More Members: About a month later, if you need to add 2 more members. You won't be charged for these additional members because you have already paid for 12 members. The purchased seats remain available for your organization to use.

Key Takeaways

  • Your initial subscription covers the members who are part of your organization at the time of subscribing.
  • When you add members during your subscription period, you are billed for the new seats only for the remaining duration of your current subscription.
  • The number of members covered by your subscription at the time of renewal depends on your organization's current membership.
  • Removing members does not affect the seats you have purchased; they remain available for your organization to use.
  • All updates, whether adding or removing members, are processed at the end of the day.

Daily Update Process and Pro-Rate Billing

  • Our daily update process ensures that any changes made to your membership, such as adding or removing members, are processed at the end of the day. This means that all adjustments are consolidated and applied in a single update.
  • If you add members to your organization, you will be charged a pro-rated amount for the new seats, covering the remaining duration of your current subscription period. This pro-rate billing ensures that you only pay for the time those members are active.

We hope this clarifies how our per-seat pricing plan works for RosterBird. This flexible model ensures that you pay only for the members you actively use and allows you to adjust your membership as your organization evolves.
